I am Coulter Richardson, a partner at Richardson & Richardson, LLC, together with my wife Katherine. I grew up in New York City and then moved to California to attend college and law school. In 1999 I moved back to Monmouth County, New Jersey to raise my family and to allow my children to be closer to our extended families. I understand family.
In years past I used to handle nearly a dozen different types of law, but I believe that if it is worth doing, it is worth doing right, so over the years I have narrowed my focus on three main areas of law: Family Law, Estate & Probate Law, and Civil Litigation Law (primarily collection).
I went to law school at Santa Clara University School of Law, graduating in 1999. Prior to law school, I earned my undergraduate degree in Environmental Management from Stanford University. I have been admitted to practice in New Jersey since February 2000 and in New York in April 2000, as well as the Federal District of New Jersey and the Federal Districts of Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. I am a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Monmouth County Bar Association.
I was employed by the law firm of Richardson Mahon Casey & Rooney, located in New York City as an associate from 1999 to the end of December 2000, performing mostly labor law. When I took time off to help care for my third child I was still the only attorney at the firm licensed to practice law in New Jersey, so I worked from home. Since then, I gradually built up my practice since 2001 until July 2013 when I formed Richardson & Richardson, LLC with Katherine Richardson, Esq.
In addition to my 17 years of experience in the law, I also bring dedication and discipline born of my years as a professional athlete, having led the Stanford University Cycling Team to 3 top-10 finishes in the U.S. Collegiate Cycling Championships, and was individually ranked in the top 100 cyclists in the U.S. in from 1989-1992.
